Weatherproofing

It is important that we proceed forward with work and improve conditions...as opposed to simply fighting a "holding action"...where we spend all our time and money just keeping the conditon from further deterioration.

To this goal, we are going to spend some time going over the outside of the house and repairing things that are allowing or causing further damage.

There are several windows that are in bad condition...the window sashes themselves parting and the glass falling out. Since they don't fit in the frame to close anymore, this leaves a gap where insects, squirrels, and weather can enter the home. Most of the problem windows are on the second floor.

For each one, I'll pull the window sash, take it apart, glue/nail it back together, prime it with an oil based primer, paint, and then reinstall it.

Next are any siding problems and an inspection of the eaves and overhangs.

This area is where the roof is not flashed correctly and so the water
is running down the side of the house, causing some problems.

We will repair these areas first.

More pictures of the process coming here soon!
